Katahdin Studio's James Roy designed and built this imaginative cabinet on a stand. Much of the genius in this chest is in the Asian influenced inverted taper leg set. The top of the legs are trimmed in a diagonal direction that is counter intuitive… lending drama, without undue sophistication. The front face of the cabinet is also on the diagonal… or semi-trapezoidal... accentuating once more its Zen-like roots. This chest is a multi-use artisan grade piece. It is perfect for holding collections of many treasured items... such as pottery, jewelry, coins, and historic documents. It is at home in the studio to organize and store artist supplies, and also makes a lovely fine linen or lingerie chest. The 6 dovetailed drawers are fitted with black enameled oval drawer pulls. The cabinet is 33” in height, 20” in width, and 17” in depth. This, as with any of our pieces, can be custom ordered with your specifications. Pictured here in cherry.
